Cloud storage

Give every file a place.

Buckets and objects

Object storage organizes files as objects inside a container called a bucket. Each object has a key that identifies it, such as guides/storage/index.html.

Paths matter

The slashes in an object key can represent the website's folder structure. When a page references a stylesheet or another page, the path needs to match the uploaded files.

Access is a separate choice

Uploading a file and allowing visitors to read it are separate actions. A public website needs public access to its website content. Private files and credentials belong outside a public website folder.
